Myrna’s erwtensoep recipe is from her grandma, well, not exactly. She first asked her grandma for the recipe, but grandma thought it’s too common of a soup, so just told her the instructions on making the soup, then Myrna searched for the ingredients online to complete the recipe. Erwtensoep is a traditional pea soup in the Netherlands, a mixture of split beans and various vegetables are cooked, in addition to a smoked sausage that’s added to the soup, elevating flavour of an already rich soup. Myrna opted for the vegetarian smoked sausage. The soup is paired with toasted bread, and usually eaten in winter.
